Authentic Indian (Bengali) Chicken curry

Ingredients :

  • Chicken - 1000 gms
  • Yogurt - 3 tablespoon (need to mix well with little water)
  • Finely chopped onions (2 big pc)
  • Garlic paste (2 teaspoon)
  • Ginger paste (2 teaspoon)
  • finely chopped green chilly - you will get it in any Indian shop
  • Turmeric powder (2 teaspoon) - you will get it in any Indian shop
  • Red chilly powder (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Cumin powder (2 teaspoon)
  • Salt to taste
  • Two tomatoes (chopped)
  • Sugar (1 teaspoon)
  • Mustard Oil (1 tablespoon) -- you will get it in any Indian shop
  • Garam Masaala (1 teaspoon)
  • Oil (zonnebloemolie)

Procedure :

  • First you need to marinate the chicken, mix chicken well with all the items mentioned above (except Garam Masala and zonnebloemolie) in a bowl to marinate, keep it aside for around 30 minutes
  • Take a frying pan and heat zonnebloemolie oil, when oil is heated put the marinated chicken into it
  • Now you need to stir it well for around 15 minutes (in medium heat), be careful should not get burnt.
  • When you see some oil is getting out from the chicken (you will see oil and chicken is being separated), give some water (around 500 ml)
  • keep it for around 15 minutes in low heat
  • When you see curry becomes little thicker, mix garam masala into it and switch off the oven
  • You are done!!!! Enjoy, you can garnish the dish with sliced onions and whole coriander leaves.
